Doctor Defends "Gender Affirming" Interventions

 I originally contacted Dr. Roberts to discuss his study that showed that even after a year on testosterone suppressive drugs and cross-sex hormones men still have an unfair advantage over women. The discussion expanded when Dr. Roberts made claims about the benefits of "gender affirming" medical interventions. Among other things I challenged his claim that puberty blockers are harmless, that children can consent to procedures, and that gender identity should be privileged above other identities. Though I deeply disagree with his medical approach, I do appreciate his willingness to engage in what, at times, was an intense debate.
