The Stakes Could Not Possibly Be Higher

A statement read at a rally to support Rob Hoogland:
"My name is William Malone. I'm an endocrinologist in practice now for 11 years. I trained at some of the top universities in the United States with some of the world's best endocrinologists. And based on the years of training and years of medical practice, I wanted to validate something that you already know. And that is, you're right, you're right that we're in the midst of an enormous medical scandal. You are right that vulnerable children are being harmed with experimental medical procedures that have no scientific basis.
Your right to be concerned about affirmation therapy. It confuses children and increases the chance that they will choose life altering hormones and surgery to treat their gender dysphoria. These treatments do not improve the long term psychological health of people. Your right to be concerned to that underlying causes of adolescent onset gender dysphoria are not being investigated. You're right that adolescent girls with a history of childhood trauma may present with gender dysphoria to avoid sexualization at puberty. You're right that adolescent girls with autism spectrum conditions may be confused about what it means to be a boy or a girl and presented with gender dysphoria, You're right the gender nonconforming children maybe confused into thinking that they're the opposite sex. None of these children need hormones or surgery. They need compassion, they need therapeutic counseling to help them build resiliency. They need help them build a self acceptance. You're right to suspect that only maladaptive or misinformed mental health professionals would recommend affirmation or hormones and surgery for such children.
You're right to be outraged that judges, courts and governments are defying logic and medical evidence that preventing parents from seeking proper treatment for their children and controlling speech. There are many like me in the medical field who are alarmed at what's occurring. You are not alone. You're on the right path.
Continue speaking up.
Continue spreading the word.
The stakes could not possibly be higher."
-Dr. William Malone

Founders: Erin Brewer, Becky Gerritson, Miriam Ben-Shalom, Maria Keffler and Lynn Meagher

Erin Brewer

Erin was a trans kid. Thankfully, she had therapists who helped her first manage and then resolve her gender confusion. Erin started speaking about her history after Equality Utah proposed legislation that would ban the very type of therapy that helped her overcome her transgender identity. Erin grew up in Salt Lake City and earned a B.S. from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. She has a Doctorate in Instructional Technology and Learning Science from Utah State University.

Maria Keffler

Maria is a former middle- and high-school teacher and one of the co-founders of the Arlington Parent Coalition (APC) in Arlington, VA. She and the APC team work to hold the public school system accountable to ALL parents, as well as to support parents toward keeping their children safe in public school. Maria has three children and holds a master of science degree in educational psychology. She writes and speaks on the topics of education, school policy on sex & gender, and parents' rights in education.

Miriam Ben-Shalom

Miriam is a long-time activist on behalf of the LGB community, a teacher of 37 years at both the high school and college levels, and a Vietnam Era veteran. She is the co-founder of Hands Across The Aisle Women in Coalition, a coalition of conservative and progressive women who work to fight trans ideology and its impact on society as well as the founder of several other organizations. She holds a BA cum laude in Hebrew Studies and English and a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A forthright and blunt woman, she is a published author and well known nationally and internationally for challenging the U.S. Army’s former ban on Gays in the military and for her work on challenging transgenderism and the erasure of women.

Lynn Meagher

Lynn works as an advocate for parents of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD) kids and as a spokesperson for the Kelsey Coalition. She feels honored to work with many gifted and talented women through the Hands Across the Aisle coalition. Her story was told by the Christian Post titled, “I’ve lost two kids to the trans cult, I want them back: An anguished mom shares her journey,” by Brandon Showalter.

Lynn has recently become involved in activism against Drag Queen Story Hours at public libraries and helped to start Ask Moms on Facebook to inform and equip ordinary people everywhere to stand against the sexualization of children. She worked as a nurse in Neonatal Intensive Care for 28 years. She enjoys reading, writing, painting, knitting, and time with friends and her two cats, Kallie and Lulu.
